tapping on it when it's already stripped will do nothing but round it off more... dude needs to wedge it on there and find a pipe... either that or take it to a shop. if you can fit the smaller socket on... put it on and hammer it on till it's tight. hammer it on straight tho. then when you have the pipe on there... hold the socket at the head with one hand and slowly apply pressure at the end of the pipe. keep the socket straight and rigid and don't let it fall off plug
