With an automatic, between shifts, boost jumps because the engine is unloaded and the wastegate can't slow down the turbo fast enough to deal with it. Boost drops off really quick back down to where it should be, but the spike between shifts is dangerous. Boost is always changing depending on throttle position and gear and all that. You don't just tune for 100% throttle. I tune for everything.
