no to 3.8, go with another 2.4. my 2.4 spun a bearing and bent a rod at 94,000 miles so don't feel to bad, and that was 6 days after i bought it  . it was abused b4 i had it, old rental car from somewhere in nj according to the gm dealer records. i just stuck in another 2.4 with only 30k on it at the time out of a wrecked 98 cav and $800 bucks later it worked great again. 10k later and it still runs great. i love how my engine only has ~40k on it
