Somewhere I found very large stabilizer bars, to the tune of 1-1/8 front and 7/8 rear. Try those with performance poly bushings. Add strut tower braces front and rear, then add lowered springs and low profile tires. squishy suspension components will exaggerate flex, and subsequently put your tires on their corners (between the tread and sidewall). when this occurs, your tires have little traction footprint.

My old Porsche 914 handled like it was on rails with nearly no body roll, but then again, there was nearly 3 grand into the suspension and tires, and it was only about 2" off the ground all the way around.
