4T40E Output shaft seal replacment

I'm still in the process of gathering information to do this. The seals are leaking on both sides and have been for a while. The leak is a very slow leak and doesn't leave spots on the driveway but I can clearly see fluid when I do oil changes.

This has got to be the most confusing job I have ever attempted to do on a car.
I found this doc which documents the procedure on a V6 and L4, manual and auto. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/he...ssion_seal.doc There are some pics in the doc.

Thought I would copy and paste the procedure for the 4T40E in case the link ever goes away.

Also has anyone attempted this job? Do I really need all these special tools?

Thanks!
