Yes you can put a switch between pin 85 and the wire that taps in to the headlight wire to disable it in the off position and enable it in the on position. If you look at the drawing the high beam signal is what switches the relay to provide power to the low beams. Note: You don't cut the headlight wire you simply tie a switch between where you tap the wire and run it to the relay.....PPL stands for purple...its for the purple wire on the passenger side...I think its the same for all years but maybe not..you will have to check a wiring diagram for your car.
