I still see several a day. But I live in the area where these cars were built.
I am still preserving mine as piece of history. My car only just turned 9K on the clock. Even my 70 Supreme has just a fuzz over 70K.

You can even see the shift of the major automotive players going away from sedans and shifting production to SUV and Trucks of any size. The family car might just go the way of the dinosaur? Heck my wife and I both have newer Silverados for our dailies.

^^^ +1 for the above comment. That, and as much as I like my Alero, it's a 4 door sedan, which makes it absolutely nothing special. You can stil buy new 4 door sedans today. At least with my other car, a Ford Escort, people will actually tend to hang onto the ones that are left, often because of things like good gas mileage (even by today's standards), and the fact that Escorts were available as hatchbacks and wagons, etc that they don't seem to make much of today (today's "hatchbacks" are really small station wagons; they don't even come in 2 door options and the back doesn't gently slope down). in that respect the only thing Aleros have going for them is that you can get an 2 door Alero (for some reason automakers think all cars have to have 4 doors now, to make the cars more ugly).
