Fuel pump not engaging

Every time I go to start up my car, after I turn the key on, I have to listen for the fuel pump to engage. Sometimes it takes a couple of seconds, sometimes it doesn't engage at all and I have to turn the key off, listen then turn the key on again and listen. And then every now and then when the car starts, I get the check engine light and trac off light comes on.

Anybody have any leads I can check? Thank you.

it doesn't start most of the time when I turn the key on to start it. I have to turn the key to power on and listen for the fuel pump to engage, and once I hear it, then I turn the key on full.

^^ I am leaning this way as well. Might be a good idea to pull the entire fuse panel from under the hood, turn it over and check for corrosion. That is a trouble spot there, and also check your FPR for any tears or leaks. I would start with those two
