Ok I had this idea pop in my head... I wanna do something with LED's. What i wanna do is make a ring of light around the opening on the front end where the foglights are... and i mean a RING i would like for it to look like one piece when its lit... and i want it bright... If i did this how bright would it be how many LED's would ai need.. and is it legal to drive with them on...???? Any thoughts???

if your talking about something like this...
[attachmentid=9135] (photoshopped the pic from the kato kit thread. couldn't find another quickly)

i think it would be easiest to...

1)take some 1/2" aquarium tubing (long enough to make a complete loop around that area.)
2) put a long slit in the back of the tube, and drill a hole 13/64" on the inside of the front of the tube. (13/64" is how but the "lens" of the led is, but not bigger then the bottom lip of it, so it fits snug in the hole.)
3) sand the ends of the LEDs off, so its flat, not rounded.
4)Put an Led every inch. if you want brighter, then every half inch.
5) do all the wiring for the LED inside the tube. (easy to access w/ the cut on the back)
6) After the wiring is in, and all the lights work, fill the tube w/ hot glue, to waterproof the wiring, and hold the LEDs in place from the back.
7) run wiring and figure a way to mount the tube.
8) connect and admire the glow.

i'm sure it'll be illegal to drive w/ that on.

you need to do a "angel eyes" mod if you want the headlights. try doing a search for it. most people use white led's but you could replace that w/ red.

freakout is an unknown quantity at this point
They might be legal to run with depending on colour. If you stuck with amber or white (check local laws), the legal colours for the front here on ON, CA, you might be alright. Look at the amount of lights on some of the transports. I don't think they can do anything about the number of lights.
