powdercoating

ok so I like the look of the stock rims on the car but im going for a murdered out kind of look, so im thinking of powdercoating the stock alloys a satin black. got a quote for 55 per rim. sandblasting will cost extra not sure how much, but id be doing the entire rim satin black and if possible ill be trying to do the olds logo on the center cap a gloss black. any opinions on the idea or the pricing?

No idea how much that runs, but love the idea. And I'm partial to black rims.

Sounds good to me, I love black wheels. I have no clue how much the cost would be. But I would try to do it with spray paint, fail, and then do it properly, thus costing more time and money in the long run, lol

They cannot powdercoat the center cap, it's plastic.

The powdercoat won't stick and it would melt in the oven anyway.

Ask the powdercoat shop, they might have a guy that will paint to match

hell yeah! they get dirty real fast. gotta clean it every 3-5 days during nice weather. god forbid you have a gravel driveway.

(Edit: TOTAL COST: about 26 dollars after tax)

i used the rim spray paint summit racing sell.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SHW-HWP104/

did 5 coats of the black and about 15 of clear coat.
if you do it i want to see how it looks!

this first picture is right after washing it. the rest are after 3-20 days

price for actual powdercoating sounds about right, but save your money and get real rims

Powder Coating will look great and wont chip...

as for the plastic center caps, they make a satin paint to match your rims..
paint supply store will have this or you can try your local auto parts store.
