You are correct. That's what it is.

The proper name for it is Electronic Brake Control Module.

Man thats a shitty place to put that kind of thing... talk about Salt and water getting in there = corroded wires.

I think that thing has something to do with my ABS light and brake light being on for 1 month.

That thing is sealed like fort knocks...cant see any weather causing a problem, and I'm sure the wires were wrapped before they were cut like that. I'm willing to bet that the plug comes off...LOL

Plug should come off easily... this style EBCM was used on years 99-00. 01' and newer aleros integrated the EBCM with the ABS pump, judging by what I've seen anyway.

Well i know this one works, you just cant read anything on it, the wires were wrapped lol and in wire loom i just cut them to sell it with the module itself, if anyone want it its up for sale now that i know what it is.

Sadly,

Salt is something only You and I need to worry about from what I can tell.

Yeah I know, when I was talking to my mech, he told me it was a frequent thing to see an alero come in the garage with ABS problem, and it was a module placed in the driver's fender that had been infiltrated with salt. I just didnt know it was the whole EBCM that was in there.

Sometime a little bit of metal brush would remove part of the corrosion (well green stuff, just dont know how to call it in english) and it would work for a while.
