The Pioneer deck is only $149 but I think the sales have changed since I posyed that. I didn't see this pioneer on it then I think it was a JVC arsenal for $149 then.

Most people that I know with Pioneers have their cds get stuck in the head units. The JVC Arsenal on the other hand I have had a good experience with. I have had it for a couple of years now, and have not had any issues with it.

Got the new job going well now. Getting to be the time to buy. I just wanted to see if I could do this myself. Crutchfield tends to give good accessories and build sheets. I have the Monsoon system with an added dual 12" box and a Kenwood amp to run the box. Can I do the head unit myself or do I need to replace the stock 6x9 amp? If I don't need to replace it I could probably do it myself.

Wow, back from the dead... But doing your own install is easy... especially with the wiring harness they sell nowadays.

I agree
Yeah,
That's what I was thinking. I just wasn't sure if I needed a new 6x9 amp or if the stock one would still be fine. I tell ya Crutchfield does make it easy though. How hard is wiring both the chime harness and the radio harness?

i didn't bother with the chimes they annoy the hell out of me anyways so i just wired up the radio harness lol, which was cake anyways considering i had a screen that needed constant power to run, it took me about 15 minutes start to finish in the car, now i have a media center and have to wire all that in, then get my subs and amp hooked up and tuned then it will be done stereo wise

LOL Yeah I went in reverse..I got my SoundStream sst6.9s and then the subs and amp now I' am working the head unit. Still debating if I should replace the 4x6s and tweets with some 6.5s and components.

Not hard at all... It still clips on to the car's stock harness and all, the only difference is that the chime has the wires that connect to the radio and not the clip that would go on to the car's harness. I personally wouldn't do the chimes. I had my GA without chimes and I don't regret it. My Cutty and Camaro have the chimes integrated somewhere else so I didn't worry about that, but the chime is extremely annoying.
As for the 6x9 amp, just do what most on here do... don't use the connection for the lows.

Purchased my own present
Meh been waffling for along time and changing jobs. I finally saw a deal on Crutchfields Outlet store on a Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS for $331 plus the metra integration adapter and the antenna adaptor for a total of $371.54 which I jumped on. Deciding now If I' am going to add the Pioneer back up camera and maybe some infinity or Polk 6.5's to replace the 4x6's. Probably just do the Back up camera for now and will wait on the 6.5's till I can get a seperate amp for em. I need to buy another Clifford remote also as my LCD cracked and leaked some of the black goo. Going to have fry's do the install as I' am lazy and can afford it now. They did an awesome job on the 12's, amp and the Clifford alarm they put in.
