Catback Exhaust?
Hey guys I have recently come up with some money and I wanted to put a new exhaust system on my car. Anyone have any good ones they have come across. I could car less about what It sounds like as long as it doesnt sound like crap. I'm just looking for the performance aspect of it. I was thinking the same exhaust system as a grand am gt 3.4 v6. I believe they are called catback exhausts. Help me out!

Go buy a transverse Flowmaster 80 muffler setup for 2.5" inlet and some nice tips. Then take it to a shop and have them install it. Whatever you do don't buy the Pacesh*tter CatBack exhaust because it is a P.O.S and will not hold up long at all. I had one on my DD and it didn't last 2 years before it started falling apart and then it just fell off all together one day. I had it repaired twice before I just scrapped it.

If you guys could link these it would be great. Also I'm looking for the FULL exhaust system not just the converter and tip. Thanks for the feedback however.

Are you also acquring a high flow catalytic converter? I have the ceramic coated Pacesetter cat-back exhaust and enjoy the sound of it. I have also had it for over a year any have not seen any breakdown; however, I lived in the desert during that time.
My advice would be to start with the Pacesetter unless people can specifically list sites to acquire parts for a full set to be spliced together. I would be interested to see the same thing as well. Also, search other exhaust thread-some folks linked videos of what they sound like so you can see.

I searched YouTube for alero exhausts before I bought one for my car. Pacesetter video got me and bought it, don't regret it, I love the sound and the look of the tips since mine still look like I just got em from the mail. Lol

Well to be honest I'm not exhaust smart at all. I would get that set there but you guys are mentioning tips and a high flow catalytic converter. Link me up for the whole shabang and I'll get it and have a shop put it in. Deal?

I don't know about cat back, but I love the sound of my magnaflow muffler. When first installed, it sounded like a fart can. If you search, you will probably find the video, but now, I really enjoy the sound. Maybe it got worn in or something. I have actually gotten compliments on it as well. As for the pipe and tip, you can probably custom make it, and select the proper tip. I suggest dual tip to fit in the stock bumper.

Mike, that link I posted above is the whole cat back, it will bolt right up to the cat/downpipe. No need for high flow cat unless your cat is bad really.

The Borla system is expensive, but of the 2 I've had over the years, they were excellent quality in terms of fit and finsh and sounded very nice.

Well id rather go with something that does give me performance and I could care less what it sounds like as long as it doesn't sound like a freaking tin can. That is a tad expensive I was looking around 500$. Any options?

I am getting ready to replace my exhaust system. I can sell you my old pacesetter muffler with its dual tips so all you have to do is go to a shop and have them put in a new cat back pipe.
