Vacuume Leak issues
well, my car's had the SES light on for about 3 months and I finally had it scanned. it found a small emissions system leak and I dunno how to fix it. I replaced the egr valve line because it was cracked and the problem is still there and the light came on again today after about 3 days. my next move is to replace the gas cap because the people at auto zone said the same thing. how do I know my gas cap is shot? is there anything else i should check? i dunno whats all part of the vacuume system on the 3400 so a diagram would be nifty, also any ways to check for leaks would be awesome too.
thanks in advance!

The code might just have to be cleared now. Most of the time they just don't go away

Codes go away after a certain number of consecutive "pass" tests on whatever system is faulted.
I'm asking for the code number because you may have the description wrong. With the number you can simply Google search it and discover what it is, why it's on, what remedies it.
I can read it and do a test drive and check out everything else lol, call me tomorrow at 4:30 yo I'll be in Auburn Hills.

emissions isn't vaccuum. my guess is that it says that the EVAP system didn't pass its test. that has turned on on mine a couple times now i just go to work plug in and shut it off. but its quite a few months b\t when mine turned on even tho it has never passed the test since i have owned the car. in other words just shut it off and ignore it unless your car runs wierd.
actually it has always been on for evap on our 95 ranger, we just took the ses bulb out lol
