anyone start to have there dashboard start cracking and peeling back?

I used protectant and sunshades in the past so i not sure why this happened and i all some put the rain visors on the doors so i could always have some air flow to cool things off ...

only thing i can think of to do is order a dash cover from jc w .

there's lots of aleros with this happening... i'm one of them... and unfortunately looks as if there will be no recalls either... about the only fixes are having it revinyled or doing some sort of dash kit

What does the dash look like w/o the vinyl? I was curious what this would look like just taking the vinyl off and painting what's underneath??

it kinda looks like osb board but plastic with a foam on top

i would take it all off but the dash is all in one piece. and that might look really tacky . mine is like a dark tan and cream color and matches the doors and all .

I found a junkyard that has a few alero's . they had the dash i needed and will even install it for me for 250..
if anyone else still needs one i would be more than happy to see if they have what you need or give you the phone number and contact name
but for 250 you cant beat it .....

No offense but I don't think I would want a junkyard working on my car.

I easily passed on a dashboard from a local junkyard for $250, even though it looked nice, ill guarantee most have had their fair share of exposure to the elements, thus no guarantee how long they will last w/ out the vinyl peeling off...im just gonna rewrap mine in custom colors im ordering later tonight...there gonna run me about $12 a yard for the vinyl plus whatever its gonna cost for underneath padding, so Im still looking at around $70-$80 to cover the entire interior for materials.starting my interior project!

I stopped by a fabrics shop next to where I work and they have a wide selection of colors in vinyl at 12.00 a yard, so who knows what I end up doing....

I heard that using things like "Armor All" and stuff on the dash isn't good. Which I do believe because the chemicals in it actually kinda cooks the vinyl in the heat, that's why it peels up.......and that's why my car is peeling up now....HARD HEADED!
