CAI Problem

So ,I just put a cold air intake on and took it for a test drive. It is a 3 piece one from ebay....chrom intakes. Anyway, the car has a dead spot around 2000 rpm, with the peddle to the floor it barely goes. Is this normal, or did I just loose a ton of low end. I like the stock airbox better so far, it just had a K&n filter

My cruise control light was flashing too a bit so I don't know what is up. I will recheck everything and makes sure it is tight. If the problem persists, I am going to throw the stock one back on. It is normal to loose some bottom end correct?

Thanks guys

Yeah I drove it again and I seemed to loose I lot of bottom end, and gained maybe some in the middle and top. The only other difference is that it seems a little smoother.

Overall though, The stock airbox flowed much better on bottom. I had the peddle floored on a small hill and it took a while to kick into rpms

same problem happened to me when I installed my intake. Check the connector on the throttle body. The srew part is hitting your throttle cable and it cant open enough to go past 2000 rpm or so. loosen it, then turn it until the throttle moves freely. let me know if you need pictures.

No problem man, its always something little like that, the last thing you would think of, unfortuantly you never figure it out til you've taken everything apart. Glad I could be of help.
