Standard 3.4L Ho?
Hey guys,
ok, this is a question to prove a point (and possibly win me $100.00 thats riding on this question), though im quite confident in my answer I need to ask those that are far more experianced than I am in this feild.
Does the Alero 3.4L (not GAGT, not the v6 GA.....Alero only!!) come with a manual transmission STOCK? No mods, no after market, im talking right out of the factory stock!
I was always under the impression that this answer was simply NO unless you get it special ordered or if you do it yourself.
Let me know guys!!
Thanks in advance!

Nope...no factory V6 Alero was ever made available to the public with a manual tranny.

talk to turbo alero, he installed a manual using a getrag 284 out of a beretta with the beretta cross member brace, manual shifter linkage and pedal assembly from a 2.4 5 sp alero and then had to find a way to wire the auto tranny harness to trick it into thinking that the auto tranny was there and in neutral. After all of this he has had difficulty proving to the online community that he has done it since he didnt take any in progress pics. I know it has been done with a 3400 in cavi's and beretta but those are obd I cars and are a little easier to trick the pcm into talking to the tranny.

blunt answer to your question: No, none were ever made public production or factory special order with a 3.4L manual.
Has it been done as a custom swap by an owner? Yes. TurboAlero did it as alerored stated.

To even further that, no 3100, 3400 or 3500 was ever equipped with a manual transmission from the factory regardless of what car it was in. The G6 GTP with the 3900 is the first FWD V6 manual that GM has produced since 1994, and even that is no longer available.
You can do it yourself though. Many people will try to sway you otherwise, but it can be done. A friend of mine is running a 3400 5-speed with OBD-II.
