I think my transmission might be on the way out, ripping the half shaft out of it probably didn't do it any good.
Car drives fine, it accelerates fine, it's just noisy as hell. Theres a rattle going on the drivers side down under the dash by my feet. I've popped the hood to have a listen but can't hear anything, only while in the car I can hear it.
It happens wheter I'm in park, neutral, or drive. Nice rattle with the occasional bang. I had a nice hearty bang while coming to a stop earlier today, I seriously thought I ran over something, but when I got out to look, nothing was in the road. Uh oh. Now the killer part, if I'm in reverse, it seems to bang a lot more.
So what could it be besides the transmission? Although with the symptoms it has, I doubt it could be anything else then that. So if the tranny is screwed, how much would I be looking at to get a new one? Also, would I have any issues with my PCM since I now have the ASE chip that voodoo used to have?

No on the rpms. It's a slavaged half shaft out of another car, from what I was told.
