Very common on almost every car I know to have the same problem

how do you remove the panels to repaint them? what are they called and can they be ordered even?

The other side isn't that bad but this one is done for some reason

Cleaned up the entire car, - the damn paint flaking

1 more

other than that it still shines up good

www.grafxwerks.com has some vinyl overlays.

My pillars are rusting as well, mainly just the passenger side, and currently only under the rubber molding (can just see it from the side when the door is open).

I know GM told me they dont paint them, they just replace them and if I'm remembering right my GM dealer told me $75. I just dont remember if that was installed or not.

I did a cheap and cheasy fix. I bought some 3m carbon fibre vinyl, cost me $15CDN, and I just masked right over top, actually don't look too bad. You could probably get a colour (<<< Canadian spelling :P ) to match your car, just an idea.

I also checked them out at the dealer (2 door '99) and the guy told me that the rear piece was connected to the back side window and I would have to order the whole piece with the window. Can't remember how much.

ya, i couldnt get mine off, it looked like it COULD come off though. and i know for a fact the fronts come off, theyre just kind of a pain in the ass to get off.

voodoo's alero had the carbon fiber overlays on the pillars i think.

i might just got the way of the overlays, I wish I could pull these off sand em and repaint em. I'll take a look at it later though and see if there are any other options.
