Intrigue Mirrors?

Hey all!

Does anyone know if Intrigue power mirrors will bolt onto an Alero? I'm not a huge fan of the stock mirrors, and the Intrigue ones would be a nice upgrade without looking too out of place. I've been comparing pictures on ebay and it looks like it would be fairly close to bolting on. Just wondering if anyone has done or tried it.

Thanks!

Yep, and they look decent, but I think the Intrigue ones would look better!

I don't think the intrigue mirrors would bolt right up. The intrigue's windshield isn't raked at the same angle as the alero's.

and no, I didn't search for purple ones...lol they are just the first pics I found that showed what I mean.

Its tough to tell by picture.

I should really just find an intrigue mirror and test fit it. I know what you mean though. The slopes of the mirrors will be different.

I just took a quick look at the mirrors on my Intrigue and Alero, they look dam close and the angle is the same. In fact they match my Aurora mirrors also. GM tries to have interchangable parts for cost savings and it looks like they did it here. The only thing I am not sure of is the bolt pattern in the window frame, but that can behind. I think it will work, but do some research before buying mirrors.

haha perfect!! You have both cars. Prehaps you could measure the outsides of each mirror, like how long they are along the top of the window, and the door?

I've compared pics of the backsides of the mirror and they also look to have the same bolt pattern. Its hard to tell in the pics of the Intrigue mirror I've found.

Here's the Alero mirror:

and the Intrigue mirror. They look close. I can't find a decent pic of the intrigue mirror.

Alright here are your measurements as close as I could get them. Pretend your looking at a right triangle.

The Alero is 6.5"H, 6.75"W & 10.5" on the angle section.
The Intrigue is 7"H, 6.25"W & 10.25" on the angle section. The Intrigue has a wider gasket around the window, the Alero does not.

With that gasket on the Alero it looks like it is gonna be close, very close.
plastic can always be modified or manipulated if you have to.

The Intrigue mirrors also are breakaway type meaning the fold in if you hit something.

I would go to a Pontiac dealer if possible and talk to their parts guy and see if he has more info. They would be more familiar with the Alero than a Caddy dealer.
GOOD LUCK

Thanks very much for the measurements! I think I'll pick up a mirror off ebay in the near future and give it a test fit. Then go from there!
