Painted window trim

I hate chrome and i had a chrome molding around my door and quarter glass
ive asked around to multiple people trying to find out how to remove it and replace with a black molding i had no luck, well i finally decided im going to paint it, here are my results start to finish!

Step 1. Sand the chrome with 220 grit sand paper scuf it up so the paint will stick
Step 2. Spray with cleaner, to clean off the chrome really good
Step 3. tape off around the molding, and use newspaper or a bed sheet to cover the car from paint and over spray
Step 4. After taping off rub it down with rubbing alcohol get all the grease off the molding
Step 5. Paint the molding with plastic paint primer, let it dry good
Step 6. Paint the molding with your color of choice, i used black. After it drys apply a 2nd coat
Step 7. after letting dry for about 2 hours peal off the tape

And there you have it a different color molding then the ugly chrome!

Not at a fan at all.. I think the chrome looks much better especially on black. It just looks bland now IMO, but hey as long as you like it.

This...Really you need the chrome piece there for asthetic purposes...I am sorry but I believe that you will come to regret doing that, particularly when the paint starts to chip off
