Thumbs up

Okay, I heard this is a common problem with Aleros or Oldsmobiles in general. My driver side window, not long after I got the car, it doesn't roll up all the way! (About half an inch from the top) When I roll it down, it sounds fine except for a loud thump noise but when I roll it up...OMG...it sounds like its about to die! And the noise makes me wanna die! Every night I have to get my mom to hold the button thingy (sorry I'm not car savvy) while I pull it up on the window itself.

Now, I've been told to take off the door panel...I have no idea how to do that. Well, I could do it but...I'd prob break it. Does anyone know what exactly it is...or have a good clue what it is? Whats this little plastic clip thing everyones been talking about.

Yeah...sorry I know there are prob other topics with the same problem, but I just wanted my own answer.

Thank you so much!
Nikki!

Mine too, there are two clips that hold the window while it rolls up and down. One seems to always break and/or slip. I have had mine replaced twice already, I am ready for a third replacement issed:

You forgot to tell MindlessBabble the worst part that the clips by them self are very difficult to get and you can't get them from GM because they say they are part of the window regulator which is about $210 from the dealer. Aleros and Grand AMs both do this. I would be a great idea if someone could fab a aluminum clip that could take the place of this plastic clip.

About a week ago, I rolled down the driver's window and I heard a loud clunk and crunch noise like I would have run over something. The window still works though heheh.

yeah the window motor comes real cheap if you look on ebay. and you can always replace it yourself, probably not that hard.
