buying spark plugs
so i did a little searching, and NGK is the way to go.
but i heard using iridium ones may help my gas mileage since they burn hotter...
if i get hotter burning plugs, will it help anything.
NGK makes 3 plugs for the ecotec.
g-power platinum
NGK platinum
Iridium IX.
which ones are the best?

I bought the AC Delco Iridiums, which are the same iridiums because they are manufactured by NGK. I don't remember exactly what the advantages of iridium are supposed to be, but back when I was doing the research, they're supposedly better than platinum.
I did get about 1mpg better after changing them, but I also changed all the fluids and filters at the same time as doing the tune up.

The original rapidfires were good. I don't think the new ones are much more than a single-platinum plug.
You'd probably be best off with the ACDelco #41-101 Iridium plugs.

if you want bang for your buck then get an autolite, they are reliable in domestic vehicles. I used to run them in my cobalt but now i run NGK iridiums.. I dunno about that hotter thing though, b/c mine are 1 step colder..
