Buying new muffler

Hey guys i dont really know much about mufflers and such but Im looking to get rid of the stock one and get a new one. I noticed many people have the flowmater 40's but i don't really want that sound on my car. I want somethng with a higher pitch and preferably just a round muffler. I was looking at some universal type mufflers on ebay and i found one by ractive and i kindve like it

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Racti...spagenameZWDVW or this one but im not sure if they will work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/APEXi...32070236QQrdZ1

By the way im not looking to spend a fortune on it and i was wondering if anyone had pics or soundclipsof other mufflers they have on their cars..
Thanks!

I don't even have to look at the link. Ebay, enough said.

True fart can mufflers are cheap, but are made the same way. All the insulation will blow out over time.

Magaflow is a good striaght thru, or Flowmaster for chambered. IMO Flowmasters sound better

do NOT put anything destined for a honda on your car, you will be so pissed after awhile. i put a cheapy on my alero years ago and it sounded like crapola. 2 weeks later i put the stocker back on...

if your going to put a muffler on your car you might as well invest some $ into it because cheapies look like crap, sound like crap, and do nothing for you in terms of performance...

^^ I agree with everything except one thing.

They do do something for perfomance, they hurt it

the quality of flowmaster has gone down over the last couple years. they sound good for the first couple years and then like in my case, one of the baffles inside the muffler broke. i switched to magnaflow a couple weeks ago and have no complaints.

you get one of those!! dont expect to post pics and get a good opinion. if you want something somewhat cheaper, just ebay for a magnaflow and its fairly cheaper then retail and its brand new if you look right. thats what i did, only $110.00 with tip and no complaints here!!

Ok so i found a flowmaster 80-cross flow which is made for camaros/firebirds. Would this still work on my alero without having to do anything but get rid of the stock muffler and replace it directly with this one??

you'll need to make a bumper cutout on the passenger side.
