hummimg

idk if its cuz im being retarded lately or wat but every since i got this alero i have had nothing but probs with system...

n e ways my problem is that i get this humming out of the subs (kinda like hearing a car behind u with small subs) just this constant RMS power pretty much.......it will start to hit when its just highs so i pause it to and the subs are still going....ill turn the sub off on the HU and it will still go.....i thinks its a ground sumwhere cuz when i hit a bump or the subs it hard it stops doing this. i checked the amp and cap ground and those look fine, a friend said its prob a ground loop on the HU so im gonna take that out tomorrow and check all the wires and ground

the humming is kinda like when u have ur RCA's over or next to the power cables, its like its getting an outside signal from sumwhere

also it dont happen everytime....like if i go across town (20 min drive) it will prob so it for like the last 2 min...it usually starts once ive been going for a while

Send a message via AIM to Gr1m
check the RCA cables, also make sure your lines arent rubbing or anything
also, have a friend listen to the subs and while the car is in park give it gas, if it stops humming when you give it gas, that means you have a bad ground somewhere

I have always just matched the wires up for the HU...they say your supposed to ground your HU to something else in the dash, but I just connect it to the factory ground and I have never had any problems with any of my three cars I owned...Another idea, do you have your battery wire and remote wire separated? The first time I hooked a system up in my car I didnt separate the wires and I had humming noises, and some popping noises when I would put my turn signals on

ok i just checked all the amp and cap grounds, they look fine. the rca looks good. so my only conclusion is its the HU ground, which sux cuz hate dealing with the HU on these aleros cuz there is like no room to work in there
cuz when i put in a cd it starts to go and sum other stuff (its kinda hard to explain i guess, its easier to show u) but ill rip out the HU tomorrow and let u no if that helps
