Different quality gas?
hmm.. my last fill up at the shell station with their V-Power 91 octane fuel.. my car seems to love this stuff.
I go there today and from pretty much fumes I put 25 in it.. it puts it up to half a tank- same gas too.. 91 octate V-Power. but I notice a new decal on the pump..
"May contain 10% Ethanol"
ooook- whatever that means.. so I hop in my car and take off down the road.. after about 2 - 3 minutes of driving.. it felt like my car instantly lost about 20 horse power.. what the hell? will ethanol do this? what can I add in there to make the car seem more lively again?
and what the hell is with gas stations all using 10% ethanol now?

It felt like I sucked a potatoe into the intake or something brewahah!
all hilarity aside.. no
it felt like i had turned the A/C on.. I just suddenly felt this loss of power.. now it just seems it hesitates on acceleration. I barely bark tire on pavement now.. where I use to be able to squeal em for a good 2 - 3 seconds. (I had to test it..)
its like right when it this new fuel hit the injectors.. the power just faceplanted.
wonder what would happen if I stuck a bit of octane booster in there.. or mabey even some seafoam.

You probably got some bad gas. All states test pumps for quantity of gas but not all states check for QUALITY of gas.
Ohio doesnt check gas quality, so we tend to get a lot of bad gas... lol
Meijer gas stations are 100% gas no ethanol. Ethanol is a corn based fuel. So 10% is ok. I ran E-85 with a 50% mix of regular gas. Car ran excellent. Then I tried a full tank of E 85 and that didnt work so well... E-85 is 85% Ethanol 15% gasoline.

it'd run even worse? lol.
higher octane = higher resistance to burn

Well there is nothing you can do to get it out other than driver the tank to E or almost E. You cannot sphoin gas of newer cars. At least 1985 and up.
It's a theft prevention that came into play after the fuel crisis in 1973-1974. There is a screen in the filler tube that a hose cannot get into to sphion out any fuel.
Also, The nozzle hole doesn't just fit the pump perfectly and allow little to no vapors out, it's that size because back in the 1950's a prank of putting a golf ball in the tank was done, over a short time the gas, mostly the lead, would break down the golf ball shell and all the rubber and cork would get into the fuel, up into the carb, and kill the fuel flow, at the least.
As for the gas problem (no not your ass, go to the doctor if you have that problem ) You'll have to play around and see which fuel suits you best. Be careful of places like BJ's and Sam's and local convenice stores that carry really cheap gas. The gas it cheap because they shop around for the lowest and buy from that company that week. It could be Sunoco this week and BP the next You could have just gotten a bad tank. Best bet is buy from a station on the main road that does a lot of business. This way the gas isn't sitting in the ground that long. Gas in those big tanks for a long period of time will start to get condensation in it, making it bad.
Most companies have been using 15% ethonal in the gas for a few years now. There is a winter blend of gas too

To make your bad gas good:
- use some of that fuel system water removal crap
- fill up the rest of the tank with good gas
lol

have you tried this stuff? notice a difference?
I dont know about you -older- drivers.. no offence. but I give my car hell every now and then to make sure its performing like it should.. just a little "checkup" if you will.. and it is -not- performing like it was prior to this fill-up lol
and by "give it hell" I dont mean boil rubber across an intersection twice a day or try and slide it across the highway.. I'm talkin about hoppin' on an empty road and layin' into it in 2nd gear untill it shifts to 2nd.. then let off. I do this mabey once a week and man the sound it makes is marvelous.
got a specific name for this water remover? or should I just look around for a bottle called STP-

I noticed the exxon in Wythville VA dropped to 86.5, 88.5 and 92.5 octane. I dont know if i got shitty gas or what, but when I filled up with 88.5, I barely made it to PA from VA on a tank. This past trip, I made it to PA from VA on just over a half tank and I used Citgo instead.

I've got bad gas one time out of a Petro-Canada. On that tank, I would try and start the car and it would sputter, then stall 2-3 times before I give him some gas and it would keep on running. It went away the second I filled from E at another station.

Irving FTW.
Though I'm on a tank of Esso now. It's running nice. Bud i threw a Penzoil treatment in it. so it could also be that.

Sunoco
I almost always get my gas at one of the many local Sunoco stations. The one that's on the main road is always busy, I've never had problems. Occaisionally Ill grab the STP octane booster, in the orange bottle, and put it in along with a fill up. Works like a charm.
