i just realized something. i really need this, and this would be a great chance to buy it since im not driving my car right now. but i know nothing about ordering this thing. to tell you the truth i dont even know what core charge is . but anyways do i unplug my PCM, mail it to them and they reprogram it, and then i get it back? and do i give them 100$ along with my PCM (at the same time). i honestly have no idea, please someone correct me if im worng. also where exactly is that PCM located at anyway?

they had to reprogram mine, due to the fact that an older pcm would not work in my car with ses lights on all the time (o2 sensor circuit changes) but older model alero's all you need is a case learn when you recieve the pcm, email them for instructions and info.
A link to their site

no, it changes shift rpm, tranny line pressure, you need to run a 180 thermostat, it has a 2 min fan on timer after engine shutoff (low fan speed) and I have recently learned(the hard way) you cant run a B&M shift+, it will freak the tranny out.
OH, and no speed governor.

what are your specific questions? the answers from your first post are, no you don't have to send them your pcm, unless you want to, if they send you one you have to send them a deposit that you get back when you send them yours as a core, if you send yours no deposit required.

hey Jab? What happened to the B&M? Did you have to return the setup to stock? And If you don't mind me asking, where's the shiftkit? If it's still around, wanna sell it?

hmmm so i send PFYC.com 100$ and they send me a PCM and just take mine out and throw it away or what? the PCM in mine is pretty good, it takes good care of my engine and lets it run really strong. i dont really understand how they do this do they take a PCM fro ma stock alero and reprogram it to a certain level?? or do they get a brand new one from GM? because what i think my PCM is adapted to a harder working engine, but i dont understand what will happen if they give me a PCM thats from some stock alero that hasnt adapted to its engine like mine, wont this make anything wierd? oh yeah and is it true i have to run better than 87 octane gas for this thing to work? and what happens if i use 87 octane? will it f*** up?

First off, you can't get the DHP thru PFYC, the GAGT has a different transmission then the Alero. You'd have to go straight to DHP and have them setup one for you.
Now as for the core charge with the PCM. You pay $250 for the PCM (or whatever it is) + a $100 core charge. Now once you get the new PCM installed in your car and working, you send the one you had to begin with back to DHP and then they will send you your $100 back. Understand? Good.
As for running 87 octane gas? I don't know. It will probably run, but it would run like ass. I have the ASE chip in my car and its the same principle, I haven't worked up the balls to put 87 in it, nor do I plan on it. My guess is it will throw codes for running lean.
