i thought you were a 5 speed? i've been running a tranny/oil cooler combo for 3 yrs, i bypassed the factory cooler and i run 25% more line pressure, shifts are firm and very quick, tranny temps run about 180-190 during very hot days, makes a world of difference.

What do you mean by 25% more line pressure?

Means he upped the values in the shift pressure tables by 25%. I upped mine and shortened the shift time.

yes, and i changed shift time to .002 seconds. i had a performance setting switch installed with "special" settings for racing, but when i started my programming over i disabled that and worked with the shift times and pressures.

are you going to run the tranny cooler independently or in series with the factory cooler? is it a 2 or 4 row cooler?

In a series like you're supposed to. If you look at the picture, it's a 6 row. Might not be evident but it can clearly be seen it's more than 4 lol.

.002 seconds? Wishful thinking. There's no way it could shift that quick. Mine are all set around .100 sec.

i'd like black seat belt straps... but i don't want to dye the current ones.. incase it bleeds out of the fabric... i/passangers end up with 2 black lines across their clothing = fail.

Just use some from a Grand Am.

But not the "max pressure" which is set to 90 for stock, right?
The 2001 program I use has base pressure table settings higher in first gear than the stock 1999 program, but the trannys were upgraded in later years, I believe. I keep it stock and leave the torque management in, too, but switch it to max pressure via a terminal at the PCM (for racing only). For some reason my tranny does not like tweeks to those tables, so I gotta go with what works, while it works.

Trying to make shit out of absolutely nothing. Nice. All I said was that you can see in the picture the pipes run more than 4 times through the fins.. and that .002 second shift time value wouldn't do anything but make the trans shift as fast as it possibly can (but definitely not be .002 sec).

Ya not sure what they did but they messed it up big time, ha. The 4T40E is typically solid up to around 325 tq.

Solid... with what modifications?
Honestly, it's not only that we think you're trying to put too much power through it, but doesn't it also have nearly 200,000 miles on it.

The stock modification... You can build it to hold 500-600 tq by putting in blue plate clutch packs, an LSD insert, new pump/filter, etc. But stock the automatic 4T40E is a lot more strength than all of you 4T45E owners seem to think.
