because i haven't learned to fiberglass yet, so i'm using the skills i do have to produce something, i might try fiber glassing after i meet someone experienced enough to teach me how
for oem i was thinking a lot of sanding, couple coats of cheap paint, some couats of textured paint, then go light with an oem color match to keep the texture

If u do this i think you should vinyl it the color of ur center consol, otherwise I think it will look outta place. I thought of something similiar to this but no speakers, just A dvd screen and a places to hold about 5 dvds, I also have a 4 door

how do you plan on holding this thing down? are you just gonna throw it in there and not secure it down?
Its definitely a different idea, but its just going to look WAY out of place.

I kinda like the idea.... Maybe instead of 6x9's, maybe a small 6" sub or something on the side with the amp on the other side... cup holders on top.....

horrible choice of wood...i agree with ryan that if ur gonna do it do it in FG
but if u absolutely have to do it in wood go spend the extra and get some MDF...
u can probably find somewhere near where u live that will fiberglass u somethin for a couple hundred...but if ur gonna do somethin do it right the first time...not some half ass ugly thing between ur seats

Its true I am a jeenyus.lol sorry its a great day. But go fiberglass ftw, just do a small fiberglass replica of what u want, so u get the feel for it, its not so bad(u have to be patien*) but if u cover in vinyl it wont have to be sanded so much either.
And ....eff u guys are giving him a hard ass time. DAMN
(TO EACH THERE OWN)
it doesnt sound like a bad idea but take ur time and do it right. I only wish i could take my own advise

if u do this in fiberglass, u should fiber glass some speaker rings in it so ur speaker screws have something to hold ur speakers to>

4x4 wood? Like the big posts?
I hate to sound negative, but seriously man? Do you honestly think that a chunk of 4x4 and some ply wood is going to look good and work inside your car?
Think about it a bit...
Maybe you can make something out of it. It still is going to look like crap.
