So the alero i bought turns out needs a new engine...
I bought my wife an alero and i thought it was only a bad lifter my friend fixed it and it was good for a bit then the car just took a shit. All the engine sludge clogged up the oil pan and pump and wasn't pumping oil to the valves so after my friend fixed all that it was good to go butt then when he used some motor flush to make the engine cleaner than it was it started making tons of noise. He speculates maybe cam bearings BUT since i was goign to do a engine rebuild for my GA it kind of works out in some way or another. So basically this is where i need some opinions. I can either do one of these.
1. Buy a engine used put it into the alero and the engine from the alero build it up for my GA
ORRRRR
2. Have the engine in the alero machined/rebuilt and make the alero MY project car instead of the GA and just give my wife my GAGT
Any thoughts/opinions?

you have a tough decision in my opinion. I think the gagt probably has more add-on parts than the aleros, but if you are going strictly performance mods, than you are building the same engine either way. Just go with what you want, cause you know the answer on here is obviously going to be the alero...

Do the GA cause you have alot of aftermarket support the alero doesnt like a c/f hood

this is a hard decision BECAUSE if i decide to do the GA i still have to cough up enough for another engine and THEN still build up my GA engine but if i build up the alero i can just have its current engine rebuilt and built up.

Part of go is weight reduction like a c/f or f/g trunk/fenders/hood/doors
