i have all new components in my front end. all that i need is a engine. when i bought the car they had fixed the abs sensors and speed sensors. i made sure of that but the engine on the other hand is mostly my fault, i failed to check all the fluids on a regular basis....

Here's how to check the switch for proper operation:
With connector plugged in, backprobe each wire, and press buttons and take voltage readings in w/ ground as reference. Key on for all tests. Also, turn the main cruise switch on for readings, too.
Brown: 12v
Black: 0v (when you press the on button, if the little light lights up this wire's fine)
Dark Blue: 0v, Press S/C button: 12v
Grey/Black: 0v, Press R/A button: 12v
Grey: 12v w/ cruise on, 0v w/ cruise off
Light Green: 0v, Press Cancel button: 12v

i just checked mine while driving yesterday...
as i was cruising, i clicked my headlights to "On".
my cruise shut off and would not turn on until the headlights were turned off. (back to auto)
Then cruise worked.
a minute later i tried again. Cruise-headlights on- cruise stayed on.
i repeated.... cruise stayed on. even tried like... 20 min later, to let the HIDs discharge. cruise stayed.
...i'm lost.

Could be a short in the tail lights.. maybe....
The cruise module has a light blue wire coming from the exterior lights (brake lights), and perhaps something shorts and gives that wire 12v when you turn on the lights... a little water in the bulb plug could do that.
Does it happen ONLY with headlights, or with parking lights, too??
Otherwise, is the headlight switch on the column or on the dash? I forget.

column. multifunction switch. and mine is brand new, so its not the switch. ( )
i've never had any moisture in any of my lights...ever. and no, only headlights. parking doesn't do anything.

you have low beam hids do you not?
if this happens again, leave the lights on, tap your brake pedal to the point where they just barely kick in, then try the cruise.
mine did that too. i fixed my problem though. it was hid related, not sure about you other guys though

unfortunately, its too dark to test this. (yesterday it was like... dusk, all day... and today seems it will be the same)
Its sad when you live in an area where your headlights are on, even during the day

leave your ebrake on, your headlights will stay off, will just have a annoying bing noise.
have it on for only one notch, dont drive with it actually engaged

Its not a problem with them being on.. i'm just saying the past 2 days were so dark, all day... that the DRL sensor was constantly engaged.

could be your not getting enough resistance across your brake feed aswell if you put in leds try putting a stock bulb back in if that works you need load resistors
