If It's not coming out really bad and you can find where the tear is to keep adding grease you'd probably be fine, but I wouldn't recommend it though.

[quote='[ion] C2;642142']I'll probably wait until I get the 5-speed and learn to race it or fly spyhunter up here to race it haha. My auto trans slips under load and I expect it to blow up when I launch with slicks. I drove 3 people around today weighing the car down and the trans stuttered sometimes even on slow takeoffs.[/QUOte
Are you going to get launch control or anti lag when you get the five speed.

Would be cool, but as it is I reach full boost at 2500 RPM, shouldn't be a problem. I might do a 2-step. I really have limited experience with manual transmissions.

Best way to launch in a stick and get traction is to slip the clutch. Basically you rev up to desired RPM, dump the clutch, the push it back in about half way, maybe a little less, you'll have to play with it a little. You'll get traction and launch really hard.
My cousin showed me that neat little trick in his ranger.

Hmm....I can see that working on a solid axle, but I'd be very worried that halfshafts (or CV joints) would break using that technique.

I thought about that too, but either way with enough power I would think the would be in need of some upgrading.
What have you found that works good in your Alero?

2nd to 3rd can be the most complicated quick shift, ill be honest ive missed a couple of times. But havent in the past couple months.
Also, i dont downshift unless i really need to. Like coming up to a stop, leave it in gear till rpms drop to like 1200 or so, clutch in and stop. Remember brakes are cheaper/easier job then a clutch.
