Hi.. I heard about this place and decided to check it out.

I bought my alero used about 6 months ago... 2002 with 22000 miles on it.

Looks like a nice place for alero members to go. Keep up the good work.

Anyways...

I'm having several issues with my car... and I wanted to know if I'm screwed with this car. I do have a 60,000 Mile extened warranty... anyways.

The first issue... I've got a real bad shudder/shaking issue when the car is in Drive or Park and at complete stop. The rpm is normal... but its a very rough shaking/vibrating. It only occurs when your in Drive or Park. Sometimes you'll hear a click sound and the the rpm goes up and down. Any ideas?? Fuel Filter.

Second issue... I'm been smelling burning oil for the last two oil chages. Each change is on time.. 3000 miles. Is this a major issue.

Third issue: Is it normal to smell occasional exhaust comming from your car.

Fourth issue: My shift from 1st to 2nd is somewhat harsh. Is this a computer problem or transmission.

Thanks...

I'll leave all the problems up to the ones that know what could be wrong but I'll still say this, welcome to the site. You'll enjoy it here, even if you don't have any problems with the car. It's a fun place with a lot of cool people but prepare to be a broke mofo cause you're gonna see all kinds of stuff that you'll want to do to your car.

Nope no lights are on... however I did talk to the previous owner (my cousin)... and he said that he floored up to around 6-6.2 atleast once a day.... so that somewhat worrys me. Also since he had a lead foot... i'm sure the computer adapted the transmission somewhat to the driver. So I'll take out the battery and reset.

So all I'm worried about is his flooring, the wear on the engine, and that rough idle. I hope he didn't blow it up or mess something up.

Can the Ecotec take that kind of pressure or will it blow under those conditions?
