that is correct. unless you can think of another way to not have one and still have the pcm run the emissions tests required to pass. obviously just disabling the code doesn't work.

So either you need a downstream 02, or you need to bribe someone. Check.

not for emissions, in MD when you register your tags you receive a month and a year sticker the month goes on the left and the year on the right, every time you register (re-register) you recieve a new year sticker to replace the old....I think that is on a 2 year cycle too. that way police can identify the expired tags eaiser, lol. but no emissions stickers, inspection stickers in the windshield, or any mumbo jumbo like that.

that's what i meant. we don't have an emissions sticker either. you can't re-register without passing emissions though.

I gotcha, well MDs seems to be sllightly different, where the registration is not directly associated with the emissions. I order my sticker online when I pay to re-register, but the emissions is paid at the testing facilty. Now I am sure if I was behind on my emmisions, they may suspend registration, but my registration is due several months before emissions.

SES light came on today lol i haven't checked the code but if i was a betting man i would say it is the catalyst inefficient one. not that it matters now, maybe in 2 years i will get around to worrying about it.

That did not work for me. I had the gas cap code P0442, so I reseated by gas cap, then reset the code. I did some shopping, then went to the emissions place and the told me to drive the car for another 2 weeks then get it tested again. I didn't flunk, they just said to drive it some more and return. I'm going to read the manual for the code reader since it might be able to tell me ahead of the two weeks time period.

Here they do the plate sticker. They did do a window sticker for the plate but only in Philadelphia county (except for one zip code ) because people would take tin snips and cut the corner on the plate with the sticker. You NEED car insurance in order to get this sticker.
As for inspection 2 wildshield stickers with the month and year. Jan to June is one set of colors, July to Dec are the color for the next year (crazy I know) One sticker every single motor vechile has "Windshield" inspection which is all glass, brakes, lights, etc, etc. The other is "Emissions" Diesal vechiles, Classic, Antique, and driven less than 5000 miles a year are exmept from emissions

it takes a certain number of ignition cycles/miles driven for the pcm to run all the emissions checks. 2 weeks of driving is a bit extreme.

That's my guess. Fortunately the code scanner I have says I'm OK to take it back to the emissions place already (says all tests have been run). Since the dash light hasn't reappeared, I will be taking it in ASAP. I will be reporting back.

Stopped off at the emissions place on my way home from work and had no trouble passing, exactly as the code reader said.
