ABS Control Module Fried-Pics

ABS, Brake, and Service Vehicle Soon Lights came on after a recent rain-storm. Hooked up a ABS scanner and could not communicate with the ABS system. Decided to take a closer look at the ABS Control Module and this is what I found.

Not only is the module fried, but the harness on the Alero did a little melting itself.

Does anyone know if different year Alero's are inter-changeable with the control module? I'm looking on ebay but cannot match up any part numbers with the Part Number on my 02 Alero Control Module. Appreciate it.

From what I am finding it isn't interchangeable and it also differs between if you have remote entry or not

Some info for other aleromod members: Part Numbers 12210829, 12217850, and 12231871 are all interchangeable. The last part number here is the new part number from the GM dealer, all of these part numbers are for 01-02 Alero's. EBCM or EBTCM are also known as ABS module which is different from the ABS modulator. The modulator and module mate together and the module can be safely removed without tampering with the brakes/lines/fluid. 4 Torx screws hold the module to the modulator.
