Hey im new to the whole alero world. I just bought a 99 alero V6 two months ago and it's awesome. I'm looking into putting an exhaust on it but I hate those loud annoying mufflers. I'd prefer something that sounded more like my stock exhaust but with better performance. Can anyone suggest something??

welcome to the site!

i would suggest the slp exhaust or you can go with a flowmaster setup which is also very nice.

Ya Welcome, although I'm not sure If I'm qualified to welcome someone since I joined like.. yesterday.. but ya.
As in loud if you mean the fart can ricer exausts loud and not the low muscle car rumble loud, then perhaps a Borala exaust is up your alley. Their duals, 2 1/2 inches, sound nice, I've yet ot hear them on a alero, but I've heard them on other cars, and I know they produce them for aleros. Their peak use I hear is 300-350 HP, for my car anyway, any higher than that you want to consider a 3" exaust. Down side, well not for me, but it seems for alot of people on this site, they work with MOPAR, or it's made by MOPAR, something like that. The price it at $394 for the borala cat back exaust for my car (I don't have an alero mind you) so it may be a few buck more or less for an alero depending I suppose. I heard their going to stop producing them for the Alero, so if you want that low rumble sound and thinking of a MOPAR/Borala(I'm probably slaughtering the spelling) exaust better jump on it quick. But I give the exaust the ole thumbs up, I plan on ordering one sometime this month.

Welcome to the site.
Unfortuantley, more power means more noise, just depends on the balance between noise and power you are looking for.

Welcome to the Parker. I think most people will recommend a Borla or SLP exhaust.

Yes, a loud muffler is a contradiction in terms. Good to see someone who wants a muffler that actually muffles! Welcome to the site.
