Ok I wan some exhaust!! I am pretty sure ive decided on the Flowmaster 40's But i have a question. Can i use the stock piping? If not about how much would it cost me for new piping and tips?? all i really want is two tips in the stock location. As far as a WAI wich ones are the better choice. We get alot of rain here so CAI is out of the question. Thanks in advance.

actually a cold air intake isnt out of the question, the only problem you would have is if you drove through a puddle two feet deep, which im sure you wouldnt be stupid enough for that, but anyway ive had mine on for a while and we get decent rain here, i even drove it through a blizzard in the mountains and had no problems, and id advise to you to get a naichspeed CAI/WAI, and yes the stock piping will work, but bigger piping will give more power, and for tips just get whatever you want

um..... well it matters, if i were you i would get some piping from slp that is already bent for our cars, but to buy the piping anymore you have to buy a whole exhaust set, muffler and all, and i will say that the slp exhaust is really good and has a nice sound just like the flowmaster, anyway or you could have an exhaust shop bend it in for ya but it matters on what the shop will want to charge, my advice though is the slp setup, that is what reddog has and he seems to really enjoy it

I dont like the sound of a 40 series but thats my opinion. Yes you would need new piping for it.

a decrease for a cold air?, well when i put mine on i never felt a decrease i only felt an increase in accel when i put mine on, its not like the exhaust where you need backpressure to accel, with a cold air it just helps the engine all around cause its getting more air through the entitre rpm band

i was also looking at getting a CAI and a friend of mine said i would need an exaust system to go with the intake becuase of the added power and air going into the engine so there would need to be better exaust for the air to get out, but im trying to make my alero into a sleeper and dont want to make it sound too far off from the stock sound.

um for the cold air, buy one from naich, the website owner, he makes his own and they are high quality, for the exhausts, there may still be a borla exhaust for sale in the bazaar but if not just search borlaon google, borla, magnaflow, slp and flowmaster are the 4 brands i would suggest to buy

it will too fit, dont liste to them, its basically the same damn underbody and no one realizes that, heres something the world doesnt realize, the grand am and alero are basicaly the same damn car with different shell and styling, but wait what am i saying the grand am is so much better in every way though.... no, it will fit , there are people on here who have it, if you have any questions contact redog about it and im sure he can help, and this isnt a rant towards you, its towards all you dman people in the world who think a grand am is some miracle car when ours is basically the exact same

I have SLP piping on my car and it is a 2001 sedan but it didn't fit very well. It had to be modified a little by the muffler shop to work but it is on now and thats what counts. It wasn't a perfect fit for my car's stock piping but then again I have a 4 door with SLP. I bet on a 2 door it would fit perfect.
