blinker clicker
alrighty. just started happening today.
when i start the car, everything goes as usual, then i turn on a blinker, and it clicks, like it's supposed to. when i turn the blinker off, it doesnt stop clicking, in fact, it clicks more rapidly. sounds like its coming from the hazard lights button, but i could be easily mistaken. any help on this would be appreciated. i want to make it stop. it's going to drive me insane.

the hazard light button is where the relay for the flashers is. my guess the switch (the steering column controller) is sticking and keeping the relay turned on for the flashing.

check out the sticky at the top of this section. It has a link to GrandamGT.com that has a perfect walkthrough for your multifunction switch in the column.

before you do that though I had this same problem when I first bought mine. I changed the hazard switch and it still happened. There is a free solution that might work before you do this.
Take the plastic cover off of the steering wheel and get into the turn signal stalk (where it is housed. GM put some type of gel/ grease stuff there to make it feel smooth and if that collects any dust and moves in between the contacts then it will connect the contacts and you will get the clicker sound. Wipe it off and you will be fine. Did this a year ago and havent had a problem since. Here is a site that I used and it goes step by step with pictures... http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-Grand-Am-Turn-Signals
Hope this helps so you won't have to pay anything.

it does fix some...fixed my friends as well...but it didnt fix mine...I had to take mine apart and wipe off the grease before it stopped. What might work for one might not work for another so just giving all the possiblities.

You do realize it could be one of two things... I had the dealer fix my hazard due to my car being part of the recall because that was the first thing I thought of. Guess what it ended being...the contacts in the column.
If I had to guess, the break down of which issue it would most likely be would be this....80% hazard switch 20% multi-function switch.
He could be right, you could be right...but the only way White is gonna fix the issue is start with one issue and go from there.

I replaced my hazard switch. Takes maybe 20-30 minutes to do. Haven't had any issues since.
