5F!? what the hells are you doing with that!?

be VERY sure, your connecting the correct one to the + and the correct one to the -!!!

if not... BOOM. you could lose a hand... or die. LOTS of power in those things.

you need to charge them w/ a resistor in line. no idea how, or what size... google it.

connect the - to ground
connect the resistor to the power wire, and then the other end of the resistor to the + terminal.

i'd wait for a professional to verify this.

Use a tester. It kind of looks like a pointy screw driver with a light inside. You connect the wire from the tester to the positive post in your battery and then put the pointy tip of the tester on the power wire that goes to the cap. Make sure you don't have your fuse connected. Once the light from the tester shines bright, you connect the fuse.

Disclaimer: This is what I have done several times on mine and no boom yet. You may want to wait for an expert though :cough: Ryan From Ohio

Ryan from Ohio will become famous soon enough
Ok, easy.

First and foremost anything over 2 Farad is a bunch of tiny capacitors, not one big one. Therefore the damage if a cap blows is small. If that was a big round one, look out...

Now onto the real topic...

Take the fuse out of your positive wire up front. Wire the positive to the positive and negative to negative. Note that the positive has a wire coming in and on the same terminal a wire going out.

Now take the resistor and put it across both the = and -

Replace the fuse up front. This keeps you away should it explode and allows you to hook it up without any power being applied...

The resistor slows the charge up a little for initial charge.
