Shifter knob on automatic

Can somebody tell me how i remove the shifter knob from an automatic please.

Just pry off the plastic staple in front of the shift knob, and it should slip right out.

thats it plyers work best.. shift your car into 1 and look on the front of the handle...

flat blade screwdriver actually works best for me. but yea, slide that staple out and pull the shifter up and off.

and installer showed me how to do mine, i laughed after trying so hard to get it off. i thought it pushed in....
