Just have a quick question. I know that the new SS engine is really expensive right now, but I was wondering how easy it would be to do a swap in the future. I dont like the cobalt but i diffenently like the engine

to swap it? ....

if there's no issues with the PCM talking to the alero BCM... it should honestly be for the most part a direct swap.

wiring harness for the ss engine, the engine and tranny, the PCM that will work with it... and possibly some minor fabrication with mounts... the axles should go in with no problem.. if there is a problem probably getting axles from a 2.2L eco equipped alero should do the trick.

It shouldn't be a complicated swap by any means in my mind....

if anything you COULD POTENTIALLY probably use the 2.2 ecotec alero engine harness and pcm.... if GM Performance releases a 2.2 ecotec supercharger setup, in which case all I would think you'd need is the reflash to the PCM...

wouldn't it possibly be easier to get an ecotec-equipped alero to start with? If you had to fabricate anything, this could save a lot of money and time.

You know if your supercharge your 2.4 you would make more hp than the Cobalt SS motor, right? And it would be alot cheaper, but if you got the money go for it.

I have an ecotec-equipped alero and I've wanted to put a supercharger on it becausae it will put out more power than the cobalt 2.0 motor. The only problem is that I have a auto tranny. How hard would it be to convert it to the manual?
