If .060 is stock, how much will .040 and .050 rasie compression?

Also will you need RTV for these?

...And you should sell it in a kit with all the other gaskets involved in doing a headgasket

I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question, but these are priced per pair or each?

You don't use RTV on a multi layer steel head gasket. You spray both sides with some copper spray (if desired) and that's it. The contact surfaces of the head and block need to be prepped PERFECTLY to the Cometic specification or it will leak. I'd highly suggest ARP head studs to complement a gasket like this.

Right, 50RA on the head is recommended. This have a viton layer and do not require any sealant.

-Alero- is an unknown quantity at this point

with .04 would you have to have higher than 93 octane to run?

also with .055 would that require extensive tunning or just a pcm re-map

The pistons stick out of the block .020". You want .040" distance from the piston to the head, so .060" is perfect. Less and you risk piston the head contact. More and you hurt the quench, which helps with KR resistance. I would not run a thinner head gasket on stock pistons.

I can get any bore but I don't see a reason to go larger. Stock 3400 bore is 3.622. stock gasket bore is 3.750.

Until they are available, the following code will get you $15 off

Cometic

I would like to see a good size order by the time they are available.

I am using .020" larger than the stock bore as a default gasket size, to increase compression and improve efficiency. There are now options for oversize bores. I have tables up to show compression with the stock heads and pistons.
