Head gasket leaking...

At 43k miles, having just replaced the LIM gasket and water pump at 41k, I now have a head gasket leak.

My Dad has recommended re-torquing the bolts. I haven't done that yet (probably will soon), does anyone else have any really good ideas?

Around the same miles my entire head gasket blown and had to get that replaced. Wouldn't really know what to tell you to fix a leak.

My Lower Intake Manifold Gasket is leaking a little coolant but I'm puting some stop leak in it sometime this week maybe it will fix itself I really don't feel like replaceing it for 800 bucks.

re-torquing the head on an Alero wouldn't do much good because it uses Torque-To-Yield bolts. Basically it means that attempting to re-torque them would only make the bolt stretch more with a minimal difference in the clamping force.

im a gm tech and re-torquing you head bolts would be the biggest waste of time. once there leaking, they will never quit. gm dealerships in canada quote 13 hours to do the head gaskets, but if youve done a ton of em like me, you can knock em off in under 6. so your either going to be paying like 1500-1600 to get em done at a dealership, or find someone who knows what they are doing.
