Fuel Pump

Ok... i know this may sound dumb.... but i know for the fuel tank on our cars... you have to drop the tank and remove the pump. Does anyone know of a way to get at the pump without droping the tank? I mean can we access it through the floor of the car?? I really dont want to drop my tank right now.... its completly full of fuel. I have thought about cutting a hole in the floor to get at it and then just have the plate i cut out welded back on but im not comfortable doing that with the tank under me..... could make for a painful trip to the hospital.... or the morgue (sp?)

any ideas though are welcomed. THANKS

^agreed. You could just syphen it. Or hook up a pump to it. Or just hook up the fuel pump and put the line to some sort of storage.

If ur gonna put the pump in, syfine the gas out as much as u can and lower the tank, its the only way u can do it, and no dont kill urself by takin a flame to it, no matter how priceless and awesome it would be to see it on youtube lol

to access the fuel pump, you have to get to the top portion of the tank to do this you have to drop the tank. To drop the tank it is held in by two straps, and you have to disconnect I think two fuel lines and some vent line. After that it's down she goes. Full tank or not it's not hard have a buddy help you. Also don't forget about that pesky fill neck going into the tank as well.

It's an easy job.
