steering wheel problem

i took apart my blinker assembly.. now there is some metal ring that is bent what is it and what can be done.. when i put it together i hear a grinding sound when i turn and my horn wont work... help please

sounds like your clock spring....it has the contacts for your horn and cruise control switches. you'll probably have to get a new one through gm, cause i don't think it's available at most parts stores.

I know that Autozone has certain ones in stock, but I'm not sure if they have the one for the Alero.
