Oh well it was a nice ice slushy day here in montreal. I was going 30km and I have a HONDA CRV (with the boat attachement in the back bumper) and a taxi in front of that honda going in a downhill.

The taxi slams the brakes to get a customer, then the honda slams and slides and hits the taxi... and now my turn. I was way back about 20 metres i saw all this happening and I brake.... It was a nice 4 sec sliding until I came along front bumper on that metal boat attachement. It made a small hole in my bumper.... Not too noticible but I would have to change my bumper this fall. Any ideas on the price range guys. any suggestions?

I don't know how much the stock bumper would cost ya, but I would guess that it would be more than worth it to just get a body kit and sell the surviving body parts that the kit would replace.

Sounds like a great opportunity to get a body kit. If not, try car-parts.com or go to a GM dealership.

Buying a body kit would cost you somewhere around $1000USD, where as a stock, same-colored bumper can probably be had in a junkyard for a hundred or so

well, buy-gm-parts.com lists it as $377.27 (and selling for $309.36), so a junkyard would most likely have the part for cheaper. Don't be afraid to check out eBay for stuff like this either.

Also keep in mind that if you go with the body kit, other people might have the same problem as you for the "surviving" stock parts, so you could sell them to make the bodykit somewhat less expensive.

Muahaha. I have a similar "flaw" in my bumper, but it didn't go all the way through. I got a quote of $200 from the body shop to heat it up, pop it out (if possible), bondo it, and repaint the whole thing. Seems like my best bet, especially since I don't want a body kit.

You'll probly want to paint it if you get a new one anyway, so don't worry about the color if you can get it cheap. But definately call a few shops and see what they can do.
