Last night my keyFOB stopped working, so I immediately think the battery is out. Today I buy a new battery #2032 like the old one, put it in and walahh...nothing...take it apart again, notice it says hold lock and unlock by car for seven seconds after replacing battery. I do this several times and nothing works. Did I somehow magically unprogram this thing or do I have to do something else upon battery replacement. It's a severe PITA not having this once you get used to it. Any help appreciated..

That happened to me too, I just started whacking button on the fob and it started working again. I dont think you can unprogram stuff, but dont take my word on it. Try futsing on it for a while and push buttons on it and just try it, and if worse comes to worse, go to an olds. dealer and ask them.

mine was dead for a few months, and still didnt have to reprogram it when i replaced the battery, i've also had mine just quit working... i'd screw with the buttons like he said.... or it may not even be the fob, could be the receiver... too bad you dont have your second remote to test.

Took the damn thing into the dealer and they tested it to see if it sent a signal. New battery and all, but no signal, they said it was fried. New one cost me about 50 bucks. oh well.
