Smaller Wheels = Less Rotational mass, yealding better acceleration. So I would go with 17" if I had to choose, but personally I dont think I would go any bigger than 16" Unless I was makeing a car to look good, and not worried about all that. and thats just IMO.

Dvalero,
I got 18's and am pretty worried about rubbing issues. However, dont let me scare you aware, as I have not put these rims on my HO yet. I was an attendee at ASS 09 (Alero Show Stravaganza) and have seen 16's, 17's, and 18's on aleros and think that the alero with 18's look the best. Especially if they are dropped with only the eibach spring kit for the alero; Which gives a 1" drop in the back and 1.4" drop in the front.
Of course, this is only my perspective. If you want the BEST look around, get 18's and airbag the alero. Ask bdyman or _01Alero_, they are both bagged on 18's.
