Basically I'd like some opinions on the Summer tires you folks have used. My Alero came with "Good-for-a-year" Eagle RS-As or something like that. Well they are already spinning in the rain and with the mileage I put on the car I'll probably be through them in mid-summer.
I'd like to get good tires but NOT something that will break my bank??
I heard the Toyo Proxes are extremely sticky and will pick everything up from the road. The Kumho Ecsta 712s sound good to me though.

I absolutely love my Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires. Excellent traction in the rain!

Heard good things about those too. Can't remember the price on them but I don't think they were a bank breaker either.

I'm on my second set of Cooper ZEON 2xs, they are incredible tires, but they are performance tires! and i drive hard so i only got aprox 30,000 miles out of them, with no problems! and they stick to the road like melted bubblegum, in wet or dry!

I had my heart set on a set of proxes T1-S's. But we discontinued my size and couldn't get them. Soooo, we just started carying the Cooper brand so I got the most agressive street tire I could get. The Zeon 2XS. Like jabartram has.
Everything he says is true. They will handle everything you throw at them (except snow mabey?). They're quiet too. They look awesome. I paid $84 per tire and got paid to put them on. Best money I've spent yet on the car!
AA traction rating, A temperature rating. Treadwear 280.
They have an H rated that looks really cool, but I don't know too much about it,
and we don't have any at the shop so I don't have any experiance with them yet.
I almost like the way the tread looks on the H rated tire better than the W rated.
But, I wouldn't trade out the 2xs.

Another great tire! Will probably brake the bank though! I could have gone with those, but even with my discount thay would have been alot. Over $500 easy
I paid around $340 for the zeon's!

For my 17" wheels, as i remember, the tires were $162/ea - That's hardly a bank-breaker.
Oh, and if you need an all-season, I would recommend the Continental ContiExtremeContact.

No all-seasons for me. I will have a dedicated set of winter tires, no question asked. I've had a set of winter tires on my Cavalier and they performed really well.

On my Cavalier I had the Cooper Weathermaster tires and they did a great job. Great tread life too.

I really like the Kumho ecsta ASX I just put on with my new 18" rims, they handle really well, better than the 712.
If you want the ultimate performance for dry and rain, get the BFG G-Force T/A probably a "bank" breaker, but they are top of the line tires!

I like my Kuhmo Ecstsa Supra 712's better than I liked any Nitto, Falken, Goodyear, or Firestone tire that I have owned. They are awesome on wet pavement, and even better on dry pavement. Plus, the price is really reasonable on tire rack.

I did some research today and the Cooper Zeon 2XS are $169 CDN each, Kumho Ecsta 712 are $149 each and the Fuzion Zri are $144. Will probably go for the Coopers..
