I'd love to go, but I am in the beginning stages of getting my future career in place and getting myself situated somewhere. So a lot of my money is going towards that. I will be most likely working my butt off. I wish I could make it though.

yes drive very fast. you never know, my mom was all uptight about that stuff, but one day (I was 17 at the time as well) I convinced her to let me go down to alabama for the weekend. Took some convincing, but it was worth it.

NATEEEE. tell her you are meeting up with me an Ion. If Ion wants to meet up. I'll be out of school and will have had my license for 3 weeks haha  I still gotta figure out what is closer, my grandma's house or my grandpa's I want to stay somewhere for free 
Grandma's house is 1 hour 9 minutes. Grandpa's house is 1 hour 11 minutes away. HMMMM..
my grandma and step grandpa live on a lake with a boat and everything..
My grandpa and step grandma live on a golf course and he has an amazing theater room WHICH ONE?!

I think you answered your own question, it's because it's in their own backyard. It's no big deal to them, nothing much involved. However for people further away it's the whole road trip, being some place different, nobody knows about your warrants or restraining orders, etc...
